How to Sell Event Tickets Without Commissions

How to Sell Event Tickets Without Commissions

You can sell tickets to your harvest dinners, launch nights and member events from your own website with no per-ticket commissions. Members One charges a subscription, not a percentage of your sales, so a sold-out event costs you exactly the same as a quiet one, and every dollar on the ticket is yours.

That matters because commission ticketing platforms charge twice. The visible cost is the percentage and booking fee clipped from every ticket. The bigger cost is invisible: the guest books on their platform, in their checkout, and becomes their user. Your relationship with that guest ends when the ticket is scanned.

What commission ticketing actually costs a venue

Run a ticketed event through a third-party platform and the fees scale with your success: the more tickets you sell, the more you hand over. But the data is the real loss. A great event puts new faces in front of your product, and if the booking happened on someone else's platform, you cannot follow up, invite them back, or offer them a club membership, because you never captured them as a customer. You paid to fill the room and someone else kept the guest list.

Sell tickets directly from your own website

Members One puts the whole booking flow on your site: guests browse your event, pick a session, choose their tickets, and pay through a Stripe-secured checkout without ever being redirected to a third-party platform. You can offer tiered tickets, like General Admission and VIP, set capacity and session times per event, and guests download their tickets as soon as payment is complete. Your branding, your checkout, your sale.

Every ticket buyer lands in your CRM

Each booking flows straight into Members One as a customer record, alongside their sale and their contact details. That turns a one-off dinner guest into someone you can follow up: a thank-you email after the event, an invitation to the next one, or the club pitch while your evening is still fresh in their memory. Events stop being isolated nights and become the top of your membership pipeline. The whole arc from walk-in guest to club member runs on one member database.

Deposits, refunds and no-shows are built in

Real venues need more than a buy button. With Members One you can charge the full ticket price up front or take a deposit, set as a fixed amount or a percentage. If a guest cancels, you refund them in full or in part straight from the booking, against a refund policy you publish on each event. Guests who never arrive can be marked as a no-show, so your attendance reporting stays honest and your team knows exactly who turned up.

Give your members first access

Because ticketing and memberships live in the same system, your events can reward the people who already back you. Offer member-exclusive pricing, early access before tickets go on general sale, or member-only nights that non-members can see but not book. It sells tickets and strengthens the club at the same time, since first access is a benefit members can only get by staying members.

Run the whole event from one screen

Every booking is visible in your admin panel and at the POS, so the office and the cellar door team are looking at the same list on the night. Capacity counts down automatically as tickets sell, and you can add manual bookings for phone enquiries or walk-ins so the record stays complete. No more juggling a ticketing tool, a spreadsheet and a door list that disagree with each other.

Keep every dollar of your next event

If you are paying commissions to sell tickets for your own venue, you are renting a checkout you could own. See what commission-free ticketing looks like on our events and ticketing page, or book a free demo today and we will walk you through it on your own events.
